Dive Rite TransPac Harness System

Inspired by a remote dive exploration in Japan where divers had to hike their heavy gear through dry portions of cave to get to the underwater sumps. The explorers also needed the versatility to switch their gear configuration from backmount to sidemount to single tanks (flexibility that a traditional hard backplate does not offer).

Designed like a mountaineer's backpack, the TransPac disperses weight across the hips and back, minimizing shoulder strain. Adjustable straps adapt to a wide variety of exposure suits and means easy donning and doffing.

A soft backplate accommodates sidemount diving, yet gives appropriate support for single tanks, double tanks or rebreathers. Slots in the backplate fit standard 36-inch cam straps (included) for single tank diving.

The modular design allows for customization using an assortment of pockets and accessories, depending on the needs and desires of the individual diver. The TransPac is lightweight and flattens easily into a suitcase for travel.

REVIEWS

Single cylinder, dual cylinder, back mount, side mount, combination of the above - the TransPack does it all and does it well. I recently upgraded my TransPac for sidemount with a Nomad Kit. A very versatile BCD! Keon July 2010

This is easily the most versitle BC I have ever come across. I can dive both single and dual cylinders without any problem, and the Trans Pac is at home in both configurations. I have been Tec Diving for a number of years, using the traditional steel backplate, and the Trand Pac does just as good, but with alot more comfort. I would highly recommend this BC to anyone. The Dive Rite Transpac must be the Swss Army Knife of BCDs. I don’t think there is anything it CAN’T do! It back mounts single or twin tanks and can be used as the core part of a side mounting unit. The owner of Dive Rite says he can show you how the Transpac can be used in any form of diving, and I believe him.
I’ll be taking my intro to tech course and I’ve tried some of the metal backplate DIR BCDs and the Transpac is so much more comfortable. Whoever designed this BCD did a great job. Alexis Aug 2009
