Dive lights must be water tight and pressure proof.
They are designed to exclude water and resist pressure to their rated depth. “Waterproof” lights not intended for diving should be avoided because they may fail due to pressure. Dive lights must be both durable and reliable because the dive environment is challenging to equipment.
Water absorbs light and that increases as divers descend. This means more light and color is lost. A dive light helps to bring out the colors of the plants and animals
