Matthew Lafrance and Swayam Rawal were scuba diving off Apo Island in the Philippines. They submerged at around 1pm and surface around 1.54. The current was moving fast were they were diving so as a precaution ten minutes before they surfaced they put a signal marker up so the boat will be able to see them.
So far so good pretty standard practice, after about an hour of just sitting and wait for the boat it decided to head back to the mainland. During the hour-long wait, the divers were blowing on their whistles and had even released a second marker to grab the attention of the boat.
